Would You Rather 15

"You're the worst kind. You're high maintenance but you think you're low maintenance."
-Harry Burns,
When Harry Met Sally

a two-parter...one for the ladies and one for the guys:

So, ladies, would you rather be with (define "be with" as you will...date/marry/whatev) the bold, confident guy who will potentially be an arrogant jerk OR the shy, nice guy, who might be less likely to sweep you off your feet, but more likely to not stomp all over your heart?

And guys, would you rather be with the high maintenance lady with lots of needs OR the low maintenance type who is rather independent and doesn't need you to solve all her problems?

interesting dilemma you post. i know they are the minority, but why can't there be an option for the bold confident guy who's secure in himself but knows he won't be "that guy" who walks all over you and so is often missed by the girls because he is not one or the other type you know?

Low maintenance/independent.

Can you give me a cup size for the two girls? That would really help me make my decision.

again fuller, seriously?

Yeah Fuller, seriously. I know you are kidding (well I hope) but its an ongoing wonder why its so common for guys to make those kinds of jokes about girls. A girl likes to think she is more than just that.

My choice...shy/nice...because sometimes an overconfident guy can seem overwhelming and who ever wants to get their heart stomped on

i don't miss those guys, bragg. they just never ask me out. ;)

maybe it's just me, but it seems like personality shouldn't be an excuse for a) not treating people well (ie--'sorry i trampled your heart, that's just me being bold and confident.') or b) not living with at least a little adventure or passion (ie--'sorry you always have to initiate, that's just me being shy and nice').

i think john eldredge has forever ruined my expectations regarding guys. :)

muy interesante, liz. my answer would by shy/nice. my question would be--does independent =intimidating?

Of course, this is a question of extremes...we would all choose the perfect combo of nice and confident, etc.

And Kristen, I have often wondered the same thing. Seems to me guys claim they want an independent girl, but somehow that makes them feel insecure or intimidated, and they end up ditching her for a more needy type--and then complain how they hate needy women. (Not that I have ever experienced anything like that ;) )

Sorry...didn't realize I couldn't joke around anymore. But now I know.

Oh Fuller get a grip. I didn't realize you had such a flare for the melodramatic. Humor and Perv humor are different, unless you are Bob Saget.
